History of Film

At the turn of the century, film bore little resemblance to the art form it is today. Once the capabilities of motion pictures became apparent, it quickly evolved from novelty into a powerful storytelling tool. The medium was quickly enriched during the early 20th century with increased creative and technical complexity. As the equipment and capabilities of film evolved, the film crew as it’s known today also began to take shape.

Why you should know how to read a video production contract

Posted by Trenton Massey on Aug 14, 2015 1:12:00 PM

Today's video production services are more involved and technically demanding than ever. Years ago amateur filmmakers could deliver a video with reasonable quality, but now, with the improvements in digital video editing and modern cameras, you need a professional. Hiring a professional means entering into a legal contract to protect yourself from poor quality and inflated fees. The contract language can seem overwhelming at first, but there are a few areas of the contract that deserve a long look.

Create a closed-loop system that feeds your video production budget

Posted by Trenton Massey on Aug 7, 2015 2:29:16 PM

With the expansion of digital marketing as a means of advertising and promoting brands, the demand for video production services is high, and rightly so.

In 2013, about half of marketers surveyed in a study done by eMarketer claimed video had the best ROI of all their content marketing efforts. As video has become more popular and more accessible to businesses over the past year and half, those numbers have surely increased.

But not all videos are created equal. If not done properly, video production can become a costly, ineffective endeavor. So how do you design a video strategy system that actually feeds your production budget? Here are a few things to keep in mind.

The right length for video commercials and online advertisements?

Posted by Trenton Massey on Jul 18, 2015 10:54:00 AM

We have all experienced a commercial that actually worked. One that made us get up, grab our keys, and spend money on that product or service. It's not shameful to admit it, someone paid a lot of cash to get that effect out of you. We often let the subconscious branding sink in without really remembering the commercial itself till later on -- or how long it was for that matter.

There has always been mild debates over many years as to whether a commercial spot's success rests with the state of the economy or the effectiveness of the brand's advertising campaign and the awareness that's generated -- I think it's safe to say that it's a little bit of both.

With that being said, does the length of the video have anything to do with the success of an advertisement? It sure does!

Create weeks worth of content with one day of video production

Posted by Trenton Massey on Jul 6, 2015 8:30:00 AM

Production is expensive… Once you start paying close attention to detail, the expenses start adding up very quickly. That's why most professional video production companies now-a-days "dual purpose" a single production day as much as they possibly can. Both behind the scenes (#BTS) and product photos (#productphotography) work very well for weeks worth of social media content.

Reinvigorate Company Branding using Video Production

Posted by Trenton Massey on Jul 5, 2015 4:30:00 PM

Company branding is slightly different from directly advertising a product or service… It refers to the promotion of the corporate entity's brand name and their overall integrity. Though the product/service advertising and the company branding are approached very differently because their scope is so vastly separated, they usually run congruently in their architecture for any advertising campaign.

Company or corporate branding affects all stakeholders involved (employees, investors, etc.) which causes strict evaluation of not only the product or service, but the company's culture/ Identity, sponsorship/advocation, brand extensions, and the list goes on.

This is all great, right?… But you're asking yourself still… How can Video Production Services reinvigorate my company branding?

How weekly video production can boost my lead conversion rate

Why use video production?

That's a legitimate question… because if you thought you were doing everything you could do to generate more revenue and you haven't incorporated the right kind of video campaign into your marketing strategy… then you are not doing everything you could do and that means there is an area of doubt in your head as to whether you are suffering for not incorporating it in the first place… Wouldn't it be nice to put that doubt to rest?

Camera manufacturers have answered the flux of filmmaker’s demands with a variety of camera packages to suit any level of production. In the documentary and independent film market, Canon’s EOS C300 has been dominant over the last couple of years thanks to its intuitive interface and superb image quality. This new camera package has made a lot of buzz by offering cutting edge resolution and frame rates. Were also going to look at how these cameras are compromised in other aspects that may discourage some filmmakers.

To find a qualified cameraman that can handle a specific project... one might have to look in a few different places before they have found the right match...

You don't see a slew of "cameraman for hire" classified ads jumping out at you on the daily... and if you did, it'd probably be best to ignore that kind of desperate, unprofessional approach. If you have been searching and getting nowhere... try these four suggestions below...
